Man Attacks Taxi Driver, 82, After Refusing To Pay Fare: Police
Police said the violent passenger caused the elderly driver to fall to the road and lose consciousness.

NEW YORK CITY — A unruly passenger slugged and kicked an elderly cab driver after refusing to pay the fare, according to police.
The fight broke out on Nov. 10 at just after 1 a.m. after the driver of a yellow cab, an 82-year-old man, confronted the passenger when he refused to pay his fare on Canal Street, police said.
Instead of handing over money, the passenger punched the driver so hard that he fell to the ground, unconscious, police said.

The violent man then kicked the 82-year-old before fleeing in a separate yellow cab north on Orchard Street, according to officials.
First responders rushed the driver to New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan, where he was treated and released, police said.

The victim described the man as approximately 25 to 30-years-old, just under six feet tall, with a light complexion and a slim build. He was last seen wearing a dark colored jacket, dark colored pants, and light colored shoes, officials said.
