Man Killed, 1 Injured After NYC Robbery, No Arrests Made Yet

Tyreek Moore, 26, tried to stop the robbery and was shot in the back and later died at a local hospital over the weekend

NEW YORK CITY — A 26-year-old man was fatally shot, and another man was injured outside a New York City apartment building over the weekend, police said.

Two men were on the sidewalk on Seward Avenue in the Bronx just before 6 p.m. on Sunday when a suspect robbed them at gunpoint.

Tyreek Moore, 26, tried to stop the robbery and was shot in the back and later died at Jacobi Hospital, police said.

A 24-year-old man, who was with Moore during the incident, was not shot but suffered minor injuries to his head. He was taken to the same hospital in stable condition.

The suspect took an iPhone and credit cards, among other things, before fleeing the scene.

A description of a possible suspect was not readily available as of Tuesday morning.

Police are investigating if the suspect knew the victims.

No arrests have been made yet. An investigation remains ongoing.
