Man Charged After Slashing NYC Cafe Worker In The Neck, Police Say
The incident happened at a coffee shop in Manhattan.
NEW YORK CITY — A man has been charged after he reportedly slashed a café worker in the neck in Manhattan on Wednesday, police announced.
Wagner Louis, 32, is accused of slashing the 50-year-old worker after he asked him to leave the coffee shop, Moka & Co, on West 34th Street near Seventh Avenue, police said.
Louis pulled out a blade and slashed the employee's neck. The 32-year-old has since been charged with attempted murder, assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

The worker was taken to Bellevue Hospital, initially in critical condition but is listed in stable condition on Thursday.
Louis was apprehended on 33rd St. after he attempted to flee the scene in a Honda Civic, police said.

The 32-year-old was expected to be arraigned on Thursday. Defense attorney information for the suspect was not readily available.
An investigation remains ongoing.
