Manhattan Prosecutors Probing Trump Inauguration Spending: Report

Federal prosecutors in NYC are reportedly investigating whether President Trump's inaugural committee misspent funds.

NEW YORK — Manhattan federal prosecutors have reportedly launched a probe into whether President Donald Trump's inaugural committee misspent some of the record $107 million it raised.

The investigation by the Manhattan U.S. Attorney's Office is also looking into whether "top donors" to the committee contributed "in exchange for access to the incoming Trump administration, policy concessions or to influence official administration positions," The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

The probe partly grew out of the federal investigation of Michael Cohen, Trump's former lawyer who was sentenced to three years in prison on Wednesday, according to the story.
