Marvel Actor Jonathan Majors' NYC Domestic Violence Trial Pushed Back

The "Ant-Man" actor appeared in court Thursday for trial, only to learn it'll be delayed to September, according to reports.

NEW YORK CITY — Actor Jonathan Majors' high-profile domestic violence trial in Manhattan got pushed back at the last minute.

The "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" star appeared in court for his scheduled trial Thursday, but in the span of two minutes learned that the proceeding would be delayed because prosecutors needed more time, Deadline first reported.

The new trial date will be Sept. 6, said Doug Cohen, a spokesperson for the Manhattan District Attorney's office.

"We look forward to presenting the full facts and evidence at trial," he said in a statement.

Majors, through his attorney, has maintained his innocence against accusations that he assaulted a woman March 25.

The incident, however, has thrust uncertainty into Majors' rising stardom. The actor had achieved both critical acclaim and popularity for roles that included the villainous Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

But several women and coworkers since then have gone public with accusations of abusive behavior, notably in a Rolling Stone report.
