Mass Deportations Planned In NYC, Congresswoman Says
A New York congresswoman disclosed the proposed plans in an interview after the inauguration.

NEW YORK CITY — Following President Donald Trump's executive orders on immigration, including declaring a national emergency at the southern border — a New York congresswoman has said mass deportations will be coming soon to the city.
In an interview after the inauguration, Rep. Nicole Malliotakis disclosed she had met with Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Tom Homan about the planned mass deportations, according to NY1.
"Chicago is first, but New York will be right after that. So, I don’t know exactly how many days it will take," she said.

"It’s focused on criminals. They are focusing on the cartels, the gang members, the sex traffickers, on the drug traffickers," she said. "They want these dangerous people in this country removed."
Trump declaring a national emergency at the southern border allows him to potentially use billions of dollars in funding for building a border wall.

He has also mentioned his desires to reinstate the return to Mexico policy, which would force migrants to stay in Mexico as they wait for their immigration court hearings.
On Monday, Trump signed an executive order to end birthright citizenship.
Being a part of the 14th Amendment, it would require a constitutional amendment.
