'Most Wanted' Bronx Man Arrested After Trying To Flee In Traffic

The 24-year-old suspect was wanted in connection to a 2017 stabbing, police said.

NEW YORK CITY — An attempted traffic stop in the Bronx on Saturday ended with a man on the "Bronx's Most Wanted" list in police custody.

A vehicle, appearing to be a black BMW, was pulled over on Kingsbridge Terrace on Saturday, but the driver of the car rammed the vehicle through traffic, trying to flee, police said.

Bystanders were moved out of harm's way, and the driver of the vehicle, 24-year-old Anton Pye, was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment and reckless driving.

Police said Pye was also wanted in connection to a 2017 stabbing in the NYPD's 42nd and 44th precincts that left a 26-year-old with injuries. He had been at large since January 2017.

Police shared a photo on Twitter of the vehicle Pye was driving at the time of his arrest.
