Midtown Hit-And-Run: 7 Hurt, Driver Gets Pysch Eval: Cops, Reports

The New Jersey woman linked to Sunday night's hit-and-run may have been experiencing a mental episode, reports show.

NEW YORK CITY — Seven pedestrians were hurt in a Midtown hit-and-run late Sunday night that saw the driver, who may have been suffering a mental health episode, speed away toward another crash in Queens, according to police and reports.

The driver, a 29-year-old woman who told arresting officers "It's in God's hands", has since been hospitalized for a psychiatric evaluation at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, police sources told the New York Post.

The driver escaped through the Queens-Midtown Tunnel, but cops caught up with her after a three-car crash on the Long Island Expressway, according to the New York Post.

The driver, whose name has not yet been released, is from Belle Mead, New Jersey, according to a Pix 11 report.
