MTA Suspends Some Weeknight Service on B, D, F And M Lines For Repairs

Service changes coming to the B, D, F and M lines for the next two weeks.

NEW YORK, NY — Extensive subway maintenance coming to the B, D, F and M lines mean those tracks will be essentially shut down in lower Manhattan during weeknights for the next two weeks.

The MTA said that repairs under the transit authority's "Fastrack" maintenance program will affect service on the B, D, F and M lines this week and next. Service will only be impacted on weeknights from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.

Here are the exact changes you can expect:

  • D Line: From 59th St-Columbus Circle to W 4th St., D trains are rerouted via the A and C tracks and will make local stops. (D trains will operate normally between Coney Island and Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center in Brooklyn.)
  • F Line: F trains are rerouted via the E line between W 4th St and Roosevelt Ave.
  • B Line: Manhattan-bound B trains coming from Brooklyn and Queens will end service at about 9:30 p.m. each weeknight; service will continue in Manhattan until about 10 p.m.
  • M Line: Manhattan-bound M trains coming from Brooklyn and Queens will also end service at about 9:30 p.m. each weeknight; service will continue in Manhattan until about 10 p.m.
  • There will be special shuttle service running between Lexington Ave/63rd St and 21 St-Queensbridge every 20 minutes.
