NBC News Will Not Give Matt Lauer A $30M Payout: CNN
Despite reports that Lauer is seeking a $30 million payout, NBC News does not intend to pay him past his last day of work, CNN found.

MIDTOWN, MANHATTAN — CNN media reporter Brian Stelter reported Friday that fired “Today” show host Matt Lauer will not receive a payout from NBC News beyond what he made on his last day of work. Lauer was fired Wednesday after an NBC employee accused him of sexual misconduct, the first of three such complaints. Soon after news of his firing, The New York Times and Variety published stories that included several women accusing the news personality of sexual misconduct, including a woman who accused Lauer of sexually assaulting her in his locked office.
Despite reports that Lauer is seeking a $30 million payout, which would compensate him through the end of his contract with the station, NBC News does not intend to pay him a dime, CNN reported. Lauer "will not be paid past his last day of work," a senior NBC News source told CNN.
