New York Fashion Week 2017 hits the stage in Soho on Thursday, Feb. 9 at Skylight Clarkson Sq. Depending on your disposition, start planning your outfit, or stay far, far away.
More than 230,000 people are expected to flock to the Big Apple for this season's style extravaganza. Buyers, members of the press and the general public will sit alongside the fashion elite at 97 runway shows and 50 presentations. But amid the clipboard-brandishing stylists and models cascading down the catwalk, an unsung hero will emerge: the collective men and women of New York City responsible for the term "street style."

Where is New York Fashion Week 2017?
All over, but the majority of NYFW shows take place in the following locations:
- Soho: Skylight Clarkson Sq (558 Washington St.)
- Chelsea: Pier 59
- Midtown West: Skylight at Moynihan Station (360 W. 33rd St.)
- Chelsea: Made @ Milk Studios (450 W 15th St.)
- Chelsea: F.Y.I. @ MADE (449 W 14th St.)
- Meatpacking: The Shop @ NYFW: The Shows (875 Washington St.)

New York's biannual Fashion Week, pioneered by global sports and talent management company IMG (International Management Group), generates an estimated $547 million each year. This spring, shows will feature exclusive content from 72 international collections, from minimalist motifs to more extravagant embellishments.
It's on the outskirts of the week-long showcase that the trends of the times come to bloom, with moments of couture extending from the personal touches of a Fashion Week neophyte to the more masterful miens of returning style veterans.
