'No Dangerous Substances' In Envelopes Found At 26 Federal Plaza: Mayor

The NYPD and FDNY Hazmat teams are investigating the incident.

NEW YORK CITY — Employees containing white powder found at 26 Federal Plaza in Lower Manhattan on Thursday did not contain any dangerous substances, officials said on Friday.

In an 1010 WINS radio interview, Mayor Eric Adams said there were "no dangerous substances" used in the incident.

"We are going to make sure the person responsible will be brought to justice," Adams added.

According to ABC News, the substance is believed to be boric acid, which is commonly used in pesticides and other chemicals.

The NYPD and FDNY Hazmat teams are investigating the incident.
