No Reports of Illness at Chipotle Manhattan Locations, Restaurant Says
Chipotle responds to chatter Thursday after someone tweeted his coworker had fallen ill from food eaten at the franchise.

A Chipotle spokesperson said Thursday there have been no reports of illnesses at any of its New York restaurants in response to speculation surrounding a few tweets posted Thursday about people getting ill at Manhattan locations.
"We are aware of the post made on Twitter, however there have been no reports of illnesses at any of our New York restaurants. Moreover, we have excellent health department scores throughout the city, and we continue to have the highest standards of food safety in our restaurants," the spokesperson said in an email to Patch.
A user by the name of @EVanLustbader tweeted Thursday that his editor was put in the hospital due to a bacterial infection allegedly contracted at Chipotle. A response to his tweet by a user called James Chu alleged he was also sick after eating Chipotle at the 56th Street location in Manhattan.

Business Insider promptly reported Chipotle's stock fell more than 3 percent at open on Thursday and linked the fall to the tweets about food poisoning.
