NEW YORK CITY — Love New York or hate it, you have to admit, we've got good stories to tell. Like the time our Attorney General jumped into a Clinton Hill street during a blackout to direct traffic, or how the Gowanus Canal made an era-defining music producer a mutant.

New Yorkers are the stuff legends are made of, and no one knows it better than the people who live here. That's why Patch is launching its new Local Legends series, to celebrate the people who make this city great and the neighborhoods they call home.

And we need your help, because no one knows your neighborhood better than you. Who's the New Yorker who best personifies your neighborhood? Who's that local personality you think all of New York should know about?
