Northwell Health Hospital In Forest Hills Wins Healthgrades Award
Long Island Jewish Forest Hills Hospital was among five Northwell Health hospitals recognized with an award by Healthgrades.

QUEENS, NY — Long Island Jewish Forest Hills Hospital earned the Healthgrades' Patient Safety Excellence Award for the second consecutive year, officials told Patch.
The hospital in Forest Hills was one of five Northwell Health hospitals recognized with the award by Healthgrades.
“We are incredibly proud to receive the Healthgrades 2025 Patient Safety Excellence Award for the second consecutive year,” Lorraine Chambers Lewis, President, Long Island Jewish Forest Hills Hospital, told Patch.

“This recognition is a testament to the unwavering commitment and dedication of our staff to providing safe, high-quality care to every patient we serve. Delivering the highest standard of healthcare while ensuring patient safety remains our top priority.”
Patients treated in hospitals that received the 2025 Patient Safety Excellence Award have a significantly lower chance of experiencing one of the four leading safety indicators:

- 54 percent less likely to experience in-hospital falls resulting in fracture than patients treated at non-recipient hospitals.
- 55 percent less likely to experience a collapsed lung due to a procedure or surgery in or around the chest than patients treated at non-recipient hospitals.
- 69 percent less likely to experience pressure sores or bed sores acquired in the hospital than patients treated at non-recipient hospitals.
- 72 percent less likely to experience catheter-related bloodstream infections acquired in the hospital than patients treated at non-recipient hospitals.
Long Island Jewish Forest Hills has also been designated as a Level II Perinatal Center and Baby-Friendly hospital providing maternity and neonatal care.
The hospital is also a designated stroke center certified by the American Heart Association, and is an American College of Radiology-designated Lung Cancer Screening Center.

The other Northwell hospitals recognized by Healthgrades include: Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Long Island Jewish Valley Stream Hospital, Huntington Hospital and Plainview Hospital.
