Watch Live: NYC Anti-Trump Protesters Come Out For President's First Trip Home

Live from the growing anti-Trump demonstration on the Hudson River waterfront.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Anti-Trump protesters marched around Midtown for the better part of Thursday afternoon, awaiting the president's arrival on his first visit home since moving to the White House.

Trump had planned to meet with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull at the Peninsula Hotel at 4 p.m., then head to the USS Intrepid aircraft carrier on the Hudson River to give a speech around 7:45 p.m.

Watch the speech in real time here. And Buzzfeed has a live feed from the growing protest on shore, meant to "drown out" the president:

Trump to JFK Airport — hours late, dressed in a full tux and tie — around 6:15 p.m. Thursday.

He had delayed his flight in order to celebrate with fellow Republicans in Washington after the U.S. House of Representatives passed a health care bill that would replace Obamacare. (It still has to be approved by the Senate.)

Trump reportedly called the Australian prime minister Thursday afternoon to say he was running a few hours behind schedule — and to suggest they instead just meet on the USS Intrepid half an hour before his speech was supposed to start.

The call was seen as "an amazing snub," an Australian government official told CNN. The meeting between Trump and Turnbull was supposed to repair a relationship that got off to a rocky start in February with a contentious phone call that reportedly ended in yelling and Trump cutting the conversation short. The two leaders were said to have argued over a deal to resettle refugees currently living in Australia to the U.S., struck between Turnbull and former President Barack Obama.
