NYC Harvey Weinstein Investigation Hits A Wall: Report
Prosecutors are moving slowly to bring charges against the disgraced movie mogul, a lawyer for actress Paz de la Huerta told CNN.

NEW YORK, NY — The NYPD's rape case against disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein is in a state of "paralysis," a lawyer for one of Weinstein's accusers told CNN on Thursday. Despite the NYPD bringing them pleny of evidence, Manhattan prosecutors have yet to bring charges stemming from Weinstein's alleged 2010 rapes of the actress Paz de la Huerta in her Tribeca apartment, CNN reported.
NYPD detectives interviewed de la Huerta after she formally reported the two alleged rapes in late October, NYPD officials have said. Police started investigating Weinstein after news reports detailing several accusations of sexual assault and harassment.
"It takes a huge emotional toll on a rape victim to have to rehash this," Carrie Goldberg, de la Huerta's attorney, told CNN. "My client has put so much into this and if the case just gets dropped ... that's a real problem."

NYPD sources told CNN that there's enough evidence to indict Weinstein for the rape of de la Huerta, but Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr.'s office has not brought charges against him.
The Manhattan DA's office told CNN the investigation is still ongoing.

The NYPD reportedly thought they had enough evidence to charge Weinstein with groping Italian model Ambra Battilana in 2015, but Manhattan prosecutors declined to bring charges in that case.
