The Queens assemblyman will become the city's youngest mayor in more than a century.

In front of a packed crowd at the Brooklyn Paramount, Mamdani told his supporters that they just toppled "a political dynasty" referring to the former governor.
"I wish Andrew Cuomo only the best in private life, but let tonight be the final time I utter his name, as we turn the page on the politics that abandons the many and answers only to the few," he added.

The mayor-elect called Tuesday's victory "an age where New Yorkers expect from their leaders a bold vision — rather than a list of excuses."
Cuomo in his concession speech Tuesday night, said his campaign "was to contest the philosophies that are shaping the Democratic Party, the future of this city and the future of this country."
"Congratulations to Zohran Mamdani — Tonight was their night."
Sliwa in his concession speech claimed New Yorkers would not tolerate a socialist mayor.
"Let me warn our new leader, if you try to implement socialism, if you try to render our police weak and impotent, if you forsake the people’s public safety, we’re not only organizing, but we are mobilizing,” the Republican candidate said. “We will become the Mayor-elect and his supporters’ worst enemy.”
