Prices For Some NYC MetroCards Will Go Up On Sunday

Just a reminder that the dreaded MetroCard fare hikes will go into effect this weekend.

NEW YORK, NY — Your next MetroCard refill may have just gotten a little more expensive: Starting Sunday, fare hikes for multiple types of MetroCards go into effect.

Prices for both weekly and monthly MetroCards are increasing. The cost of a single ride will stay the same at $2.75 per trip.

Unlimited monthly cards will cost $121, up from $116.50, and unlimited weekly cards will cost one dollar more at $32. The cost of a weekly Express Bus Plus pass will increase to $59.50 from $57.25.

In January, the MTA board voted approve the fare increases, which it said were the lowest increase since 2009. You can see all of the new prices here.
