Quality Eats’ new home on the Upper East Side comes as an expansion of the West Village restaurant of the same name. The new location opened July 17, and its menu features several different cuts of steak — all offered below $30 — as well as other meaty dishes, such as leg of lamb, grilled octopus and a $19 burger.
Hudson Jane
Neighborhood: Fort Greene

Hudson Jane is bringing back the Double Brown, a BLT made with hash browns and a fried egg. The new all-day eatery opened July 17 with a wine bar and a Gramercy Tavern chef at the helm. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, Hudson Jane also comes with a cafe counter that offers quick food and coffee to go. It offers a sit-down atmosphere that functions as a wine and (wine) cocktail bar by night.
Jing Fong Dim Sum
Neighborhood: Upper West Side
Address: 380 Amsterdam Ave.
The Chinatown dim sum favorite has opened an expansion location on the Upper West Side at at the corner of Amsterdam and W 78th. At 2,000 square feet, the new location is smaller than its 20,000 square-foot predecessor, but much of the menu remains intact, serving up Jing Fong’s authentic Cantonese dishes such as peking pork chop and honey walnut prawns.
Union Hall
Neighborhood: Park Slope
Address: 702 Union St.
Union Hall suffered a fire that broke out in its upstairs section on March 24, leading the establishment to close until the reopening of its downstairs floor on May 15. The downstairs area was subsequently used for comedy shows, karaoke and other events. The bar was reopening on July 21. Check out the food beforehand on the Union Hall website.
Bushwich Sandwich Lab
Neighborhood: Bushwick
Address: 143 Troutman St.
This new popup emerged July 15 and has nestled into Brooklyn’s Precious Metal. The sandwich makers are serving up an array of tiered treats that include vegan cubanos, gluten-free carnitas and meat-laden meatball sandwiches on garlic toast, organizers have said.
