NYC Subway Delays: 10 Lines Roiled During Rush Hour

Power trouble, signal problems and a sick passenger messed up the morning commute.

NEW YORK — Power problems, signal issues and sick passengers roiled commutes on 10 subway lines during the Thursday morning rush hour. The MTA warned of delays and service changes on the N, Q, R, W, 2, 3, A, C, F and M lines.

A "ConEd power reduction" caused delays on the N, Q, R and W lines, the MTA said. The problem rerouted Q trains in both directions over the B line between DeKalb Avenue and West Fourth Street-Washington Square, then over the F line between Washington Square and Lexington Avenue-63rd Street.

A customer in need of medical assistance at Rockefeller Center forced northbound M trains to run along the F line from Rockefeller Center to 36th Street in Queens as of about 9:30 a.m. That came shortly after F trains were delayed by another straphanger needing medical help at Second Avenue.
