NYC Subway Delays: 7 Trains Delayed After FDNY Investigation

The FDNY's response to smoke briefly halted part of the 7 line Tuesday morning.

NEW YORK — Delays slammed 7 trains during the Tuesday morning rush hour after the FDNY responded to a report of smoke in Midtown Manhattan. The Fire Department investigation at Grand Central-42nd Street briefly suspended service between 34th Street-Hudson Yards in Manhattan and Hunters Point Avenue in Queens, according to the MTA.

Service had resumed as of 7:53 a.m., but the MTA warned riders to expect delays as congestion cleared.

Northbound B and C trains also faced delays Tuesday morning because of signal problems at 96th Street, the MTA said.
