NYC Subway Delays: 8 Lines Messed Up During Morning Rush

Various snafus screwed up commutes on eight subway lines Monday morning.

NEW YORK — Myriad problems screwed up commutes on eight subway lines for the Monday morning rush hour. Signal problems, FDNY activity and a train with mechanical issues all contributed to straphangers' woes, according to MTA alerts.

The Fire Department activity at 125th Street delayed southbound B and C trains and forced southbound A and D trains to run local from 125th Street to Columbus Circle, the MTA said.

Trains on the F line were running with delays while workers addressed a signal problem at 18th Avenue, according to the transit agency. Signal problems at Jamaica Center also caused delays on Broad Street-bound J and Z trains, the MTA said.

The train with mechanical problems was removed from Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center in Brooklyn, causing "minor delays" on the R line, the transit agency said. The MTA was no longer reporting those delays as of about 9:20 a.m.
