NYC Subway Delays: Broken Rail Causes Commute Chaos
Straphangers should expect "significant delays" on the 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 lines, the MTA said.

LOWER MANHATTAN, NY — A broken rail at a Wall Street subway station threw a wrench into Thursday evening commutes on five train lines. The MTA told straphangers to expect "significant delays" on the 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 lines after the problem shut down northbound service along the 2/3 line in Manhattan.
New York City Transit first reported the problem just before 6 p.m. Crews are "on scene working to restore service," the agency said. Meanwhile, there's no northbound 2 or 3 service at Wall Street.
Northbound 2 trains are running along the 5 line between Nevins Street in Brooklyn and 149th Street-Grand Concourse in the Bronx. Northbound 3 trains will end at Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Additionally, some southbound 5 trains will stop along the 2 line from 149th Street-Grand Concourse to Chambers Street, then run along the 1 line before ending at South Ferry.

There's no Manhattan-bound service at the Clark Street station in Brooklyn. The MTA advised straphangers to take a Manhattan-bound 2 train on the 5 line at Borough Hall.
Bad scene at Wall St. - a broken rail kills uptown express service. no one to tell riders to take another line until they've already swiped and walked onto platform. pic.twitter.com/0YYpgKW3DD
