NEW YORK, NY — New Yorkers returning to the daily commute after Labor Day Weekend were subject to delays on a number of city subway lines Tuesday morning.

Subway lines faced delays and service changes Tuesday for a number of reasons including both common — passengers receiving medical assistance, switch problems and other mechanical breakdowns — and uncommon — a disruptive passenger sitting on the dangerous third rail.

Around 9 a.m., at least seven different lines were being slowed down.
