NEW YORK — Signal problems and a door malfunction marred Monday morning commutes by causing delays on seven subway lines, according to the MTA.

A signal breakdown on the Manhattan Bridge delayed southbound B and D trains, while another at Smith-Ninth Streets slowed down northbound F and G trains, MTA alerts say. Southbound F train riders were also rankled by a separate signal issue at 18th Avenue, the agency says.

N, R and W trains were also delayed in both directions after workers took a train with a door problem out of service at Fifth Avenue-59th Street in Midtown, according to the MTA.
