NYC Subway Delays: Slowdowns Hit These 8 Lines During Commute
Vandalization, brake activations and a passenger in need of medical help all caused delays Thursday, according to the MTA.

NEW YORK CITY — A smattering of transit hiccups caused delays throughout Thursday's commute for New York City straphangers on at least eight lines, according to the MTA.

N/R/W trains headed north ran with delays because of a signal problem at 34th Street-Herald Square, the MTA tweeted at 8:46 a.m.

Northbound R/W trains resumed making local stops from Canal Street to 34th Street, officials said.
F trains headed north and 71st Avenue-bound M trains were slowed by a train that had its brakes activated at West Fourth Street-Washington Square, the MTA tweeted at 7:55 a.m. The problem appeared to be resolved about an hour late.

E/F trains headed south ran with delays after crews removed a train that was vandalized at Forest Hills-71st Avenue, the MTA posted at 7:12 a.m.
A Q train with a mechanical problem at Beverley Road caused delays on the northbound route, according to a 6:36 a.m. post.
And 7 trains headed to 34th Street-Hudson Yards ran with delays after EMS responded to someone in need of medical help at 40th Street-Lowery Street, the MTA tweeted at 5:54 a.m.
