NYC Subways See 'Major Delays' On Several Lines: MTA
E/F/M/R trains experienced major delays because of a signal problem, out of a dozen lines seeing slowdowns Thursday.

NEW YORK CITY — "Major delays" hit four subway lines Thursday morning, in addition to slowdowns on several more during rush hour, according to the MTA.
"E/F/M/R trains are running with major delays in both directions," the MTA tweeted at 8:22 a.m.
The culprit was a signal problem at Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue that started about 6:30 a.m., officials said. M trains had resumed regular service at all stops by 8 a.m., but the other lines still experienced slowdowns.

Twelve lines, including the E/F/M/R trains, saw delays Thursday morning, according to the MTA.
A mechanical problem for a Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train caused delays after crews removed it from service, an 8:13 a.m. post states.

Northbound B/D trains were delayed while the NYPD responded to a person being disruptive at Grand Street, according to an 8:30 a.m. tweet.
Another disruptive person at 33rd Street-Rawson Street caused delays for Main Street-bound 7 trains, the MTA posted at 8:30 a.m.
The 6 line was slowed by a train's brakes being activated at Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall, according to a 7:47 a.m. tweet.
A door problem and a brake activation on two Q trains caused delays for northbound trains on that line, according to the MTA.
Southbound 4/5 trains ran slow after crews removed a train with a mechanical problem from service at 86th Street, the MTA posted at 7:12 a.m.
Smoke in a G train at Greenpoint Avenue caused delays in both directions, according to a 7:09 a.m. tweet.
