NYC Weather: 100% Chance Of Rain Dampens Forecast

NEW YORK CITY — Think dry thoughts, New Yorkers.

A 100 percent chance of rain is what city dwellers can expect Thursday, according to the National Weather Service's forecast.

"New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible," the forecast states.

The predicted "periods of rain" will continue into the evening, mainly before 10 p.m., according to the forecast. Up to another half inch of rain could fall during the night, the forecast states.

But the wet weather won't stick around for Good Friday.

Friday will start mostly cloudy before turning mostly sunny, albeit with less-than-pleasant wind gusts up to 29 mph, the forecast states.

The weekend likely will be spring-like, meaning highs just shy of 60 degrees, largely sunny skies and a slight chance of rain Saturday, according to the forecast.
