NYC Weather Forecast: Fall Arrives With Highs In Low 60s
It may be time to bust out those jackets and coats for good.

NEW YORK, NY — After a mostly mild start to the fall season, it may be time for New Yorkers to finally take those coats and jackets out of storage for good.
A cold air mass moved into the tri-state area overnight and will bring cool temperatures to the city starting Monday morning.
Monday's high temperature isn't expected to top 60 or 61 degrees, forecasters say, while the low will dip all the way down to 43. Adding to the chilly temps, winds will whip around in the mid to high teens throughout the day, including in the evening, when the Yankees host the Astros in the Bronx for game three of the American League Championship Series.

"The coldest airmass of the Fall season so far will be ushered in tonight," the National Weather Service said Monday morning. "Frosty conditions are expected across far outlying areas as temperatures drop into the lower to mid 30s. Meanwhile, lows within the New York City and New Jersey metro area will hold in the middle 40s."

A frost advisory was issued for parts of northern New Jersey, the Hudson Valley and Connecticut, though New York City just missed out on that designation.

"Tuesday will feature plenty of sunshine and weaker winds, but temperatures will still remain slightly below seasonable," the government forecasters said. "High pressure will remain over the region into mid-week, keeping conditions dry, with moderating temperatures."
By Wednesday, things will start to warm up again, with highs for the rest of the week in the low 70s and highs in the mid 50s.
