NYC Weather Forecast: Heat Advisory Issued Ahead Of Thunderstorms
It could feel as hot as 96 degrees on Monday before storms roll in Tuesday.

NEW YORK, NY — It's another hot one. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Monday and Tuesday ahead of likely thunderstorms and steamy conditions that will make it feel as hot as the mid-90s.
Monday will bring a high temperature near 90 degrees and heat index values as high as 96 when relative humidity is factored in, according to the weather service.
Tuesday will be similarly hot, with the mercury reaching a high near 87 and heat index values getting as high as 95, the forecast shows. The heat advisory will be in effect from noon Monday to 6 p.m. Tuesday.

There's a chance of thunderstorms starting Monday afternoon, but the bulk of the storms is expected to hit Tuesday afternoon, according to the forecast. More than an inch of rain could fall from Tuesday morning to early Wednesday morning, the forecast shows.
Sunshine is expected to return Wednesday, along with temperatures in the mid-80s that will run through the rest of the week, the forecast says.

Tuesday
Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. High near 87. Heat index values as high as 95. South wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 9pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. West wind around 7 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. North wind around 10 mph.
