NEW YORK, NY — These first few days of fall have felt a lot more like summer, but that's about to change soon.
Cooler weather is going to make its way into the tri-state area on Friday and through the weekend, just as we're entering October.
"With high pressure in control for much of the day, today will be mostly sunny, with near normal temperatures," the National Weather Service said Friday. "Weak low pressure will approach tonight and pass across on Saturday, bringing cool and unsettled conditions, with increasing clouds and a chance of
showers and thunderstorms."

Temperatures on Friday will top out at around 70 degrees in New York City, consistent with the daily average for this time in September.
Saturday will be even cooler. A forecasted high around 65 would be five degrees below the average for September 30 in the city.
By Sunday, high temperatures will be back up to about 70. And then next week we'll be back to the mid- to high-70s again.
"Dry and warmer conditions should return next week as high pressure once again builds over the area," the National Weather Service said.

Sunny, with a high near 70. Northwest wind 7 to 10 mph.
Tonight
Isolated showers after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 58. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Saturday
Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 65. West wind 6 to 10 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Saturday Night
A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10pm, then a slight chance of showers between 10pm and 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54. North wind 11 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Sunday
Sunny, with a high near 70. North wind 8 to 10 mph.

Clear, with a low around 53.

Sunny, with a high near 75.
