NYC Weather Forecast: More Thunderstorms, Strong Winds Wednesday Evening

NEW YORK, NY — More thunderstorms and heavy winds are expected in the New York City-area Wednesday night, two days after the region got a particularly heavy dosage of both during a gnarly storm.

Things aren't forecasted to get quite as bad as they did Monday, but the rain and storm could put a damper on evening commutes and anything outdoors you may have had planned for the night.

"Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop during the afternoon, some of which could produce strong gusty winds," the National Weather Service said.

The rain will begin around 7 p.m. and pick up some steam by 8 p.m. before calming back down through the rest of the night. Wind gusts will reach the mid- to high-20s depending on exactly where you are.

Temperatures will be in the low- to mid-80s during most of the day.
