NYC Weather Forecast: More Tornadoes And Floods Threaten

NEW YORK CITY – More tornadoes could hit New York City Saturday as heavy rain threatens flooding through the morning, forecasters said.

The prediction comes after a twister touched down in Queens Wednesday night, destroying 50 trees and downing power lines along its three quarter mile path in College Point.

The National Weather Service warned Saturday: "An isolated strong to severe thunderstorm with damaging wind gusts or even a weak tornado is possible through early Saturday afternoon."

A flash flood watch is in effect until noon.

Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 1pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. High near 84. Southwest wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Saturday Night
A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 7pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 74. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Sunny, with a high near 92. Light and variable wind.

Mostly clear, with a low around 75. South wind 3 to 8 mph.

Sunny, with a high near 92. Southwest wind 3 to 7 mph.
