NYC Weather Forecast: Storms And Heat Advisory Continue
A storm on Tuesday saw lightning strikes and turned a Queens road into a river. Expect more Wednesday.

NEW YORK, NY – Heavy rain was expected to continue through Wednesday after a brutal storm Tuesday caused reported ground strikes by lightning, turned city streets into rivers and caused delays at New York City airports.
The torrential rain will be accompanied by a heat advisory Wednesday, the fourth day that the city bakes in sweltering temperatures.
Tuesday's storm came through the city shortly after 7 p.m. with winds over 40 mph and reports of lightning strikes in Brooklyn and Queens. Police said three people were struck by lightning in Queens.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 89. Heat index values as high as 97. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
Wednesday Night
Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 10pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. South wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Thursday
A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. Northwest wind 7 to 9 mph.
Thursday Night
Mostly clear, with a low around 72. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph.

Sunny, with a high near 89. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the afternoon.
