NYC Weather: Heat Nears 100 Degrees After Labor Day
The city will be under a heat advisory until 9 p.m. Tuesday.

NEW YORK — Labor Day hasn't brought an end to the sweltering heat. New York City will see unseasonably steamy temperatures until the end of the week, with Tuesday feeling like almost 100 degrees, the National Weather Service predicts.
The city will be under a heat advisory until 9 p.m. Tuesday as the mercury climbs to a high near 92 and the heat index gets as high as 97 degrees, the weather service says.
The heat index — how hot it feels with humidity factored in — hit 98 in Central Park on Monday for the similarly stifling Labor Day holiday.

A "weak cold front" will move through Tuesday night and make for a cooler Wednesday, but the high temperature will still be well above normal near 88 degrees, the weather service says.
Thursday will bring another scorcher with a high near 90 and a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before Friday cools to a roughly normal high near 80 degrees, the forecast says.
