The silver lining in the nor'easter's clouds for New York City is that it'll likely will miss out a last-gasp wintry surprise: snow.
Heavy snow is expected to fall across a wide swath of states, from Wisconsin to northern Illinois and Indiana and into Pennsylvania and upstate New York, according to AccuWeather.
"Less than 75 miles north of New York City, heavy snow may be found in part of the Hudson Valley," the AccuWeather report states.
"The latest indications are it will be too warm for snow to fall in New York City, along the southern coast of New England and along much of the eastern coast of Massachusetts."
The chance of rain will fall to 60 percent Thursday before leaving the forecast altogether Friday and the weekend.
