NEW YORK CITY — Rain and possible thunderstorms are expected to effect at least the four days of the week, according to the latest forecasts.

On Monday, there is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon, with mostly cloudy skies and a high temperature of 80 degrees.

The bulk of the rain will hit the area late Monday night before 11 p.m. with possible thunderstorms during the overnight hours and stopping at 5 a.m.

Monday night there will be a 70% chance of precipitation with rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch.

Tuesday will look very similar, with rain showers expected during the morning and night hours, according to forecasts.

Rain showers are poised to hit first after 11 a.m. and then return after 8 p.m. Chance of precipitation is 60% for Tuesday, as temperatures will hit 80 degrees with mostly cloudy skies.

On Wednesday, showers and thunderstorms will hit the area before 2 p.m., according to forecasters.

Chance of rain is at 60% again, with showers expected to return between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m.

Temperatures will reach a high of 78.

Thursday is poised to be the last day of bad weather, with showers 2 p.m. and again during the evening before 8 p.m.

Temperatures are expected to hit 82 degrees.

Friday through Sunday are projected to sunny, with temperatures in the low to mid-80s.
