NYC Weather: Showers Return Along With Cooler Temperatures

NEW YORK CITY — Cooler summer temperatures, along with potential showers, will grace New York City for a single day, forecasters say.

A blanket of cool air will descend over the city Wednesday, keeping the high at 76 degrees, according to the National Weather Service's forecast.

And a chance of rain is also in the forecast.

"A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 2pm," the forecast states.

Temperatures along much of the East Coast will be 15 degrees below average on Wednesday, according to an AccuWeather report.

"The high on Tuesday in the Big Apple was slightly above this mark, hitting 82 degrees at Kennedy International Airport, but will be lower on Wednesday," the AccuWeather report states.

The rain and coolers temperatures aren't expected to last long.

The forecast through the weekend calls for mostly sunny skies and highs up to 84 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
