NYC Weather: Rain To Soak City Amid Cool Temperatures
More than an inch of rain could fall Tuesday and Wednesday.

NEW YORK — The first full week of fall will bring midweek showers and seasonably cool temperatures to New York City, the National Weather Service says.
More than an inch of rain and possibly some thunderstorms are expected to hit Tuesday and Wednesday, the weather service's latest forecast shows.
The heaviest rainfall is expected from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, when nearly half an inch of rain could hit Central Park.

A chance of thunder will be added to the mix from Tuesday evening through Wednesday night, the forecast shows.
Temperatures this week will be roughly normal for this time of year, starting with a high near 68 degrees on Monday, the weather service says. Wednesday will be the exception with an unusually warm high near 80, the forecast shows.

Tuesday
Showers. High near 72. Southeast wind 13 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Tuesday Night
Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before midnight, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Patchy fog after midnight. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 70. South wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Wednesday
A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. South wind 6 to 11 mph.
Wednesday Night
Showers likely, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Thursday
Partly sunny, with a high near 70.
Thursday Night
A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 61.
Friday
A 30 percent chance of showers before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 72.
Friday Night
Partly cloudy, with a low around 60.
