NYC Weather: Showers, Then Sunny Skies As Summery Week Begins

NEW YORK CITY — Get ready for a summery week in New York City — except when rain clouds pop up to spoil the sunny fun, forecasters say.

A slight chance of showers Monday morning is expected to give way to sunny weather, according to the National Weather Service’s forecast.

The forecast is similar Tuesday, but only in reverse — a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms is predicted that evening after day of sun.

And the rain could carry into Wednesday, although not for long.

“A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9am,” the forecast states.

Rain or shine, highs this week will hover in the lower 80s, according to the forecast.

A 20 percent chance of showers before 9am. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 83. Light southeast wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.
