NYC Weather: Snow Possible As Cold Snap Continues
Snow showers could hit Thursday night as wind chills dip into the 20s.

NEW YORK — Hopefully this snowfall won't be as messy as the last one. Snow showers could strike New York City Thursday night amid unseasonable cold with wind chills in the 20s, the National Weather Service says.
The weather service puts the chance of precipitation at 20 percent, with snow possible in Central Park from 7 p.m. Thursday to 4 a.m. Friday. As much as half an inch could come early Friday morning, Mayor Bill de Blasio said on Twitter.
The snow will come alongside wind gusts as strong as 20 MPH, with wind chills making it feel like 25 to 30 degrees, the weather service says. A high temperature near 39 is expected Thursday, colder than the normal level of 46.

The potential snowfall would come three weeks after more than six inches of snow crippled the city, stranding many drivers in traffic and kids on school buses. The mess led to a firestorm of criticism for the de Blasio administration.
The Democratic mayor seems to have learned his lesson — he tweeted that the city is "closely monitoring" the weather service's feed "out of an abundance of caution."
