NYC Weather: Storms Threaten To Spoil Warm, Sunny Week
Thunderstorms could roll in Tuesday amid unseasonably warm October temperatures.

NEW YORK — Thunderstorms could interrupt a sunny and unseasonably warm first week of October in New York City. Showers could roll in starting Tuesday afternoon and continue throughout that night, potentially accompanied by thunder, the National Weather Service says.
The storms could drop close to a quarter-inch of rain on Central Park by early Wednesday morning, the forecast shows. They'll come alongside an expected high temperature near 78 degrees on Tuesday, about nine degrees warmer than normal.
The rest of the week will bring sunshine and similarly warm temperatures, with highs reaching into the 80s on Wednesday and Thursday, the weather service says. So those fall sweaters will have to stay in the closet a bit longer.
