NYC Weather: Strong Storms Friday Could Carry Into Wet Weekend
A line of strong thunderstorms Friday morning was tracked by forecasters, who warned of severe weather all day and storms into the weekend.
NEW YORK CITY — A line of strong thunderstorms threatened to sweep through New York City Friday morning, bringing 40-mph winds and half-inch hail, forecasters said.
Those storms likely will dissipate by 8:15 a.m., but the city faces other weather threats throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service.
The city is under a hazardous weather outlook all day and a flood advisory until 10:15 a.m. Severe weather and flooding is possible into Friday evening, forecasters warned.

"Showers and thunderstorms are expected today across the entire
forecast area," a National Weather Service briefing states. "While showers and storms can occur anytime, the best chances will be this afternoon and evening."
And if the storms don't hit Friday, they could very well strike over the weekend.

Saturday carries a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Sunday does as well, with the added threat of heavy rain, according to the forecast.

Friday Morning
Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. South wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Saturday
A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. Light south wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning.
