NYC Weather: Thunderstorms, Showers Could Spoil Sunny Day

NEW YORK CITY — Don't get used to New York City's sunny skies this week.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms enters the city's forecast starting Tuesday afternoon amid an otherwise partly sunny day, according to the National Weather Service.

"A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely after 8pm," Tuesday night's forecast states.

The chance of rain continues throughout the week until Friday, the forecast states.

Showers are likely Wednesday morning, and rain will linger that afternoon, according to the forecast.

Wednesday and Thursday have 60 percent and 40 percent chances of precipitation, respectively, the forecast states.

The chance of rain will dissipate Friday, which is expected to be partly sunny, according to the forecast.

But New Yorkers shouldn't expect rain to stay away over the weekend.

Each weekend day carries a chance of rain, the forecast states.
