NYC Weather: Tornado, Hail Possible As Storms Threaten
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook.

NEW YORK – Severe thunderstorms threatening New York City Tuesday night could bring with them strong winds, hail and even a tornado, forecasters warned.
The threat is substantial enough for the National Weather Service to issue a hazardous weather outlook.
"There is a chance of strong to severe thunderstorms developing late this afternoon into this evening along a warm front," the service said.

"The main threat will be damaging winds and large hail, however, an isolated tornado is possible. The threat is highest just west of the NYC metro."
The chance of thunderstorms starts at 2 p.m. and continue until midnight., the service said. As much as a half an inch of rain is expected.

Sunshine will return Wednesday, though more thunderstorms are possible Wednesday night, the NWS said.

Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 10pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 10pm and midnight. Some of the storms could produce small hail and gusty winds. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. South wind around 7 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Partly sunny, with a high near 76. North wind 7 to 9 mph.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. South wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
