NYC Weather: Weekend Soaker Threatens More Rain For Sodden City
Yet again, New Yorkers' hopes for a rain-free weekend could be dashed.
NEW YORK CITY — Sodden New Yorkers might not have much chance to dry out this weekend.
Rain is expected to yet again wash out a weekend in New York City, forecasters warned.
A massive storm is on a 1,600-mile journey and mostly likely will blow into the city by Saturday, said AccuWeather Meteorologist Dean DeVore.

"Some steady rain should move into at least part of the New York City metro area during the day Saturday and could produce some localized ponding on roads and sidewalks as the heaviest moves in during Saturday night," DeVore said in a report by the service.

The National Weather Service's forecast for Saturday calls for up to a half inch of rain during the day, along with another half inch in the evening.

Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54. Northwest wind 6 to 8 mph.

Rain likely, mainly after 3pm. Cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 53 by 2pm. North wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Saturday Night
Rain, mainly before 3am. Temperature rising to around 58 by 11pm. Northeast wind 9 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
