NYC Weekend Weather: Pleasant Temps For City's Last Beach Days

NEW YORK CITY — A pleasant weekend awaits New Yorkers looking for some late summer fun, forecasters say.

New York City's beaches will close after Sunday for the season, and the forecast is a mixed bag for sunseekers.

Temperatures will hit 80 degrees Saturday, with sunny skies throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service's forecast. Sunday's forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies, but highs still will be pleasant — 76 degrees.

The balmy weather will continue into next week, but rain will enter the forecast after 2 a.m. Monday, meteorologists say.

"A 40 percent chance of showers," Monday's forecast states.
