NYC Weekend Weather: Sunny Saturday, Sunday's Meh

NEW YORK CITY — The balmy, muggy weather finally broke, leaving New York City with a cool breeze and blue skies that will almost last through the weekend.

The National Weather Service predicts Saturday will be sunny and cool with the high no higher than 71 degrees.

Saturday night will begin to cloud over and temperatures will drop to the high 50s, forecasters said.

The clouds will remain Sunday and bring a 40 percent chance of showers Sunday afternoon with temperatures hovering in the mid-70s, according to forecasters.

Ocean-bound New Yorkers should take care—the city remains under rip current and high surf advisories.
