NYC Is World's Best City For 2024, New Ranking Finds

NEW YORK CITY — Don't sleep on the city that never does, at least for this year.

New York City is the best city of 2024, according to a Time Out ranking released Tuesday.

The Big Apple grabbed the number one stop on the 50-city ranking because of its spirit that is "always adapting, always innovating and always pushing the boundaries," the list states.

"It's never asleep," the list states. "It's fully awake."

The Time Out ranking was based on a poll from more than 100 staff writers and editors with the venerable global publication.

They were asked what other city they would most like to live in — and New York City came on top, according to the list.

"When it came to the city people wanted to move to most, New York was head and shoulders above the rest, with 15 percent of survey respondents saying they’d relocate there in a heartbeat," the list states.

Cape Town, South Africa grabbed the number two spot, followed by Berlin, London and Madrid, the ranking found.

Chicago was the second-highest ranked U.S. city at 14th, with Los Angeles following at 17th, according to the list.
